Since the pandemic Kew Asia have built the Traits from Taxonomic Descriptions (TfTD) dataset. This has been individual efforts by myself, Laura Jennings and Osanna Chu but also team days of data collection with many collaborators across Kew Science.
This has led to publications on fruit size, flowers and upcoming pieces on conservation prioritisation and carbon stocks.
To grow the network a TfTD gathering day was carried out at the start of October, organised by Himmah Rustiami with many of our long term friends and collaborators at Herbarium Bogoriense, BRIN.
Fifteen participants learnt the data collection methods and we did some bonus tidyverse work to show next steps post data collection.
Overall ace to see old friends and grow a rewarding team initiative.
