Through October Kew Asia gave two workshops at Universitas Papua funded by the British Council and Fauna and Flora International.
The first led by Alison Moore and Gemma Bramley gave an adapted workshop on the journey of a specimen from the field to a carefully curated herbarium. An ace mix of field, practical and theory.
The second led by Laura Jennings, myself and Shawn O’Donnell was all about Tropical Important Plant Areas and conservation prioritisation.
It was fantastic working with the 35 participants and to see such enthusiasm and aptitude amongst botanical scientists and conservation practitioners was a real pleasure.

As ever we are supported by Prof Charlie Heatubun, Haerul Arifin and Esrom at BRIDa
and Jimmy Wanma, Jonni Marwa, Wolfram Mofu, Agustinus Murdjoko and Ida Sinaga at UNIPA.
